recommending books with coding in java

hi,

I am beginner in java can anyone suggest me a programming book about java.

i am an advanced programmer in .NET technologies. so i have good command on OOPS concepts and all i want source code examples for beginners in to the technology .

and if possible tell me something how accept input from user like a calulcator program in java

i can't get a hold of inputs from the users.

please help.

Hi,

If you want to learn through a book instaed of going for an online option, I prefer to start off with the "HeadFirst" series..That is, by far, the best book to learn Java concepts if you are new to the language..
